Many new players jump into betting without truly understanding what odds mean. They pick their favourite team, put down some money, and hope for the best. That's not a strategy – that's pure gambling. Successful sports bettors, on the other hand, have a deep understanding of odds and use them as a tool to find value in every bet.
Simply put, odds are numbers that reflect two things at once: the probability of a particular outcome occurring, and how much you stand to win if your bet is correct. At JadiKing, odds are displayed in Decimal format by default – the easiest format to understand and the most popular among Asian players.
Quick Example: JDT takes on Selangor FC with odds for a JDT win at 1.65. If you place RM100 on JDT and they win, you receive RM165 (profit of RM65). The lower the odds, the more a team is considered the favourite to win. The higher the odds, the more they are seen as an underdog with a lower chance of winning – but if they do win, your payout is significantly larger.
One important concept in sports betting is the "value bet" — which is when the odds offered by JadiKing higher than the actual probability of that outcome occurring. For example, if your analysis shows Team A has a 50% chance of winning, but the odds offered are 2.20 (implying the platform puts it at only 45.5%), that is a value bet. Consistently identifying value bets is what separates professional bettors from recreational ones.
At JadiKing, we are committed to offering competitive and fair odds. Our payout rate is among the highest in Malaysia – meaning a greater share of every MYR wagered is returned to players as winnings, compared to platforms that take a larger cut. For EPL and Liga Super football, our payout rate reaches 98%.

JadiKing supports all formats – choose whichever you are most comfortable with
| Format | Example | How to Read | Return Formula | Popular In |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | Every RM1 staked → receive RM2.50 (profit of RM1.50) | Stake × Odds | Asia, Europe |
| Malay / Asian | +1.50 / -0.67 | Positive = profit per unit; Negative = stake required per unit won | Depends on sign | Malaysia, SE Asia |
| Fractional | 3/2 | Win RM3 for every RM2 staked (profit only) | (Numerator/Denominator × Stake) + Stake | UK, Ireland |
The simplest format and used by default at JadiKing. Odds of 2.50 mean that if you place RM100, you receive RM250 if you win. Simple to calculate: just multiply your stake by the odds.
A format many Malaysian players are already familiar with. A positive value (+1.50) = profit per RM1 if you win. A negative value (-1.50) = how much you need to stake to win RM1. The favourite is typically shown as a negative figure.
The traditional format from the UK, still used in horse racing and some European leagues. 5/2 means for every RM2 staked, you win RM5 (excluding your stake). jadiking supports fractional display on request.

Understand this and you're already one step ahead of most bettors
Many players assume low odds (e.g. 1.20 for a strong favourite) are "safe" because the chance of winning seems high. That's not quite right. If you stake RM1,000 at odds of 1.20 and win, your profit is only RM200. A single loss at higher odds can wipe out many of those small wins. Manage your risk based on the return value, not just the likelihood of winning.
Every odds carries an implied probability. For decimal odds, the formula is: 1 ÷ Odds × 100%. Odds 2.00 = 50% probability. Odds 1.50 = 66.7% probability. If your analysis tells you the true probability is higher than this, you may have found a value bet at JadiKing.
Odds are never static. They shift based on news (player injuries, team line-ups), incoming bets from other players, and overall market movements. If a team's odds drop sharply before kick-off, it could mean positive information about that team hasn't been made public yet. JadiKing displays odds movement history to help you analyse the market.
JadiKing offers competitive odds that are frequently among the best available in Malaysia. That said, as a savvy bettor, it's worth comparing the odds on offer against the general market to make sure you're getting the best value. Even a small difference in odds (e.g. 1.85 vs 1.92) can have a meaningful impact over the long run.
Die-hard fans are often tempted to bet on their favourite team regardless of whether the odds make sense. This is known as "fan bias" — the biggest enemy of any sports bettor. Keep emotions out of your betting decisions. Analyse odds objectively, review head-to-head records and current team form, then place your bet on JadiKing.
